Director David Fincher is teaming up with Brad Pitt to film the World War Z sequel. The film’s sequel was put on hold while Pitt took care of his well publicized personal problems as well as Pitt’s ability to secure the right director. The deal isn’t finalized yet but if things keep moving forward as expected the film should start production in the first quarter of 2018.
Fincher and Pitt have worked before, most notably on Se7en and a personal favorite, Fight Club!
Key Takeaways:
- The first “World War Z” starred Pitt playing a United Nations employee who raced around the world to try to stop a zombie pandemic.
- The project is still waiting for final approval from the new chairman and CEO of Paramount Jim Gianopulos.
- The original movie was a huge money makers, earning $540 million while having a budget of “only” $190 million. Not bad!
